Solid advice even for non-apocalyptic scenarios: "keep your head, retain your fundamental scruples, throw in with likeminded people, and avoid the savages, petty tyrants, and poisonous plants." Fortunately no poisonous plants around here, but have been following the other suggestions so far :)
This is the second time I have come across this book title this week, and will place it on my reading radar. Thanks for the recommendation!
I’m not sure, actually. Reading is my primary hobby, and I use audiobooks especially when I walk each day. The real time-consuming part, however, is the writing. I’m a pretty quick reader, but sometimes it takes quite a while to determine what I want to say about a book or related subject—let alone actually get it down into polished form.
Walking and reading sound like a perfect combination! I have no idea how you manage to get this many posts out on a weekly basis, but you do it in a very polished, engaging, and incisive style.
I remember seeing the movie probably in the late 1950's. I must have been in 3rd or 4th grade. It freaked me out. I don't recall it being as much a sociological metaphor as much as a sci-fi doomsday flick, but then what did I know in third grade.... I might have to look it up, see if it's on Youtube and watch it again and read the book...
Those old sci-fi movies can be pretty fun. I’m a big fan of Night of the Living Dead. The book is really worth a read. It’s quick. I actually just bought several other John Wyndham books because I enjoyed it so much.
Adding to the reading list!
Sweet! I bet you’ll enjoy it. It’s fun.
I love Sci Fi when done right, I just have a hard time finding it, so it’s nice to get a good recommendation!
My pleasure!

It’s a fun story. I read it right after your husband’s fascinating novel. I was in a sci-fi mood apparently :)
You really keep up the pace! How many hours a day do you read?

Thank you, Ruth! I’ll take that as further encouragement.
