As is said, "We become what we behold. We shape our tools and then our tools shape us." I'm excited for this to become, in the spirit of Emerson, one of the books that “I cannot remember…any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me.”
What??-- Plato put the knock on poets?? This I dinna know... 🤔
Your book sounds great despite the fact that "the copyeditor is currently wearing out her red pencil." 😅
I didn't know Bookshop.org supported local bookstores-- excellent. I've just ordered my copy thru them. Congrats on a big 10+ years-in-the-making achievement-- wishing you great success!! 👍💪🙏😊
I Just came across your Substack and read about your upcoming book. Very excited to read it when it will be published in Nov and thanks for the effort you’re making in putting to words what many of us have been thinking about the impact of books.
I am a physician based in India and would really appreciate if we can pre order the kindle version of the book as the paperback is extremely costly for many of us..

Reading books about books are like loving love as far as I am concerned!
And now I’m hearing Stevie Wonder’s “Love is in need of love today…”
Nothing wrong with that :)
Yes!
Congratulations! Is it UK bound at any point that you are aware of, Joel?
I can’t say for sure how, but Amazon UK has it shipping at the same time! So that’s a good sign.
Preordered. Looking forward to it!
Sounds like a marvelous book. However, fixed income s and books like this don't work together well
Excited about your book, Joel! I clicked the link about this weekend’s discussion but page not found. Can you tell us more about the where and when?
How wonderful, Joel. I've just preordered. Finding you on Substack has been such a delight; I can't wait to spend time with your ideas via book form.
Sounds really intriguing. Thank you, Joel.
Sounds just up my alley. Looking forward to it. Can't pre order right now, no room in my budget but it's on my wishlist on Glamazon

Great observations! How does your big idea relate to the older one of The Great Conversation? I've always found that idea resonant and useful.
Just preordered! A birthday gift to myself😂 Can’t wait to jump in!
Congrats Joel; it sounds (unsurprisingly given your Substack!) fascinating. Preordered from bookshops.org.
Sounds fascinating! I just pre-ordered and look forward to reading it in November.
