It is interesting how our humanity follows us even into a monastic setting.... Whenever I've had good talks with abbots and abbesses we find a great deal of commonality in the challenges of business, family and parish life to the monastic life and issues. I think the primary issue is one you pointed out: We can't pay attention for very long, long enough to "see our life". It takes a long time to learn how to do that even in a monastery....
True fact. I talked about sitting still for ten minutes. Who am I kidding? I can’t really do it for more than two or three.
Are used to smoke cigars. The closest I ever came to a long period of meditative still was sometimes then. I need to develop a healthier practice for that :)

Okay I want every single one of these books now.
You’ll love them. They’re all accessible and fascinating. Cybulskie’s book in particular is lots of fun. But all three reward a read.
That sound recording element is way cool.
It’s pretty great. There’s a thirty-minute segment you can just sit back and let wash right over you.
Miller, this is really good. Would you mind dropping me a line at b.boychuk.3 AT gmail.com?
For you, Ben, yes!
